The Old Dower House is situated in the heart of Marbury Village, close to beautiful St Michaels Church and surrounded by spectacular countryside. Marbury is situated 3 miles north east of Whitchurch in Shropshire and 7 miles south west of Nantwich in Cheshire. It is approximately 30 minutes drive to Shrewsbury, the historic city of Chester and approximately one hours drive from Manchester, Birmingham and Liverpool. A short distance from the Welsh border, The Old Dower House is a perfect base to be able to explore attractions in Cheshire, Shropshire and North Wales.

We would love you to experience the great outdoors when visiting this beautiful part of the world and we are very happy to make recommendations, whatever level of fitness you are. We are surrounded by walks whether it be a short stroll or a full days stomp.

  • The Llangollen branch of the Shropshire Union Canal runs past the village (quarter of a mile from the house)
  • The Sandstone Trail www.sandstonetrail.com walking (or running!) route can be joined just 10 minutes drive away or a mile or so walk along the canal
